2 Houston Rockets international players that never played a single minute
1. Sergio Llull
Sergio Llull is a multi-All-Euroleague selection and nabbed the MVP at his peak, posting averages of 16.5 points, 5.9 assists, and 37.2 percent from behind the arc. Llull has made 35.2 percent of his triples throughout his storied 17-year career.
But the plan wasn't for Llull to remain in Spain for so long, as the Rockets shelled out $2.25 million for him, which was the most money ever for the rights to a second-round pick. For a Rockets team that has made a killing on the margins and that has prided themselves on bargain deals, this was a cost that they surely hated eating.
In 2016-17, Llull took home the MVP trophy in both tournaments, as he posting scoring averages of 16 points in the Liga ACB and EuroLeague tournaments. This productivity at the point guard position would've came in handy for the Rockets in 2016-17 and 2018-19, as Chris Paul wasn't quite the same player in the latter season.
Llull has amassed an incredible career in the international gamut, as he won three EuroLeague championships and seven championships in the Liga ACB. Furthermore, Llull was named to the EuroLeague All-Decade team.
