Over the last several years, the Houston Rockets have undergone a youth movement, as the front office identified a clear need to rebuild and retool the roster. The Rockets underwent a massive teardown, as they parted with essentially every veteran player they’ve had (with the exception of Boban Marjanovic and Eric Gordon, who they held on to for entirely too long).

The result was the Rockets' stockpiling of young talent, with many citing the Rockets’ core as one of the best young cores in the league. The Rockets erased all doubt when they took the court in the NBA 2K24 Summer League, as their trove of young talent put on a show.

The Rockets were the highest-scoring team in the Summer League, as they averaged 104.8 points and marched their way to the championship game on Monday night, but ultimately fell short to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
