3. Buddy Hield

Buddy Hield has been the subject of trade rumors for several years now. The Los Angeles Lakers were linked to Hield for several years, but that got nixed when they traded for Russell Westbrook.

Hield re-surfaced on the trade block over the summer when he and the Pacers reached an impasse on contract talks. Hield has been one of the league’s best shooters in recent years, as he’s made 40.1 percent from long-range through his eight-year NBA career.

The Rockets have desperately struggled from three and rank 26th league-wide. Hield was acquired by the Philadelphia 76ers for salary-filler and three second-round picks, which was a significantly nominal package for a shooter as good as Hield.

The Rockets gave up this exact package for Steven Adams, having traded salary filler by way of Victor Oladipo and three second-round picks. However, they still had enough draft capital to shell out three more second-round picks to address their shooting woes.
