3 Key takeaways from the Houston Rockets' first 2 Summer League games
2. Orlando Robinson is worth is a look
That said, the third pick is supposed to produce in Summer League. What teams love is when a contributor sneaks onto their Summer League roster.
Did anybody see Orlando Robinson coming?
Last season, the 24-year-old played 8.9 minutes per game for the Miami Heat. This isn't a household name. Across two Summer League games with the Rockets, Robinson seems intent on letting us know who he is.
Against the Wizards, he was especially impressive. Robinson had 22 points and 15 rebounds. He only attempted one three and he missed, but he looks like a reasonably fluid shooter at his size. Otherwise, his soft touch around the rim and consistent defensive positioning have blessed the Rockets' Summer League roster.
Will they create a regular spot for him? It's hard to say. The Rockets' roster is full, and they'd have to do some maneuvering to accommodate Robinson.
If he keeps this up, they may decide that he's worth the hassle.
