3 Lottery talents Rockets should monitor in best-case scenario
1. Alex Sarr
Alex Sarr is one of the world's best shot-blockers, and is easily the best rim protector not in the NBA. The 7-foot-1 big man possesses athleticism and versatility and has a high motor- a combination that has him atop many draft boards.
The Frenchman can defend every position on the floor and could be one of the league's best defenders almost instantly. It's rare for someone of his size to be able to defend significantly smaller guards.
He has insane length and possesses a 7-foot-4 wingspan and 9.5 foot standing reach. Granted, he'll need to add muscle and strength, as he's quite frail and can stand to bulk up.
Offensively, Sarr has some work to do, as he's not a long-range shooter and is most efficient around the rim. But he can run the floor and even bring the ball up, which somewhat makes up for his lack of shot.
He has good passing ability, which is par for the course for bigs in the Euroleague. And the crazy thing is that he's only 18-years-old and will only continue to develop and add more to his game.
Sarr projects as a Evan Mobley-Chet Holmgren hybrid, or even a Jaren Jackson Jr. type, without the 3-point shot.
