1. Dillon Brooks

Naturally, we saved the hottest take for last.

We don't mean to rag on Brooks. We'd never negate the contributions he's made to this team. Brooks was brought in to instill a sense of toughness in the Rockets' young core. He's done well.

Still, his functionality on an NBA floor is limited. Brooks is a solid point-of-attack defender, but his offense is a mixed bag. His penchant for calling audibles and isolating at the expense of the team's flow has carried over from Memphis to Houston.

Meanwhile, his shooting has regressed to the mean after a hot start. Brooks is shooting 30.6% from deep over his last 15 games. This has always been a sticking point for Brooks, and that's unlikely to change.

Let him start hot on a different team in 2024-25.
