We possess no psychic abilities. Let's get that out of the way. Here at SpaceCityScoop, we are not clairvoyant.

Still, we do follow the Houston Rockets closely - it's our job, and it's our passion. So, we'd like to think we have some notion of what might happen in 2024-25.

Who knows? We could go 0-for-3 here. Still, we're going to give this a shot.

Here are three increasingly bold predictions for the Houston Rockets' 2024-25 season.

1. The Houston Rockets finish above .500

The Western Conference is a bloodbath. A 45-win season won't guarantee the Rockets a spot in the play-in tournament.

We'd like to predict a playoff berth. Frankly, we'd love to make that prediction. We also wouldn't rule out the possibility. Still, it doesn't feel prudent to broadcast that prediction.

Last year, the Rockets won 41 games. That put them just outside of the play-in picture. The Warriors and Kings were directly ahead of them with 46 wins a piece. The Rockets could easily author a 5-win improvement, but predicting it would feel slightly optimistic.

So, we'll hedge our bets. We're predicting a finish above .500. That'll put the Rockets back in the play-in race, whether they make an appearance or not.

With our next prediction, we'll be bolder.
