4 non-star players the Houston Rockets could trade for this season
P.J. Tucker
The Rockets don't necessarily need to trade for a rotation player. If anything. they may make a move because their rotation is too crowded as is. Suppose Reed Sheppard is performing well - could the Rockets decide they don't need Aaron Holiday?
In that event, an expiring contract could be appealing. If the Rockets are sending out more productive players, they could pick up some modest assets in the process. How does Tate and Holiday for Tucker and a second-round pick or two sound?
For what it's worth, Houston fans would likely love to reunite with Tucker. He was instrumental in some of the best teams they assembled around James Harden. Tucker is a fan favorite in Space City.
He's also a gritty, hard-nosed veteran whose presence should benefit the young core. Tucker may not crack the team's rotation, but he'd be a solid insurance policy in the event of injury, and adding him would just be fun.
