5. Derrick Favors
Derrick Favors has carved out a solid NBA career, as he's averaged 10.6 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 53.4 percent from the floor through 12 seasons. And at 32-year-old, he's made it clear that he has no plans of slowing down.
"It feels good to play basketball after sitting out last year. Being around these guys has really given me that youthful energy back. I’m enjoying it so far, being around a bunch of guys who work hard and are willing to learn and just want to get better. This is a good opportunity to get back into basketball and into the NBA.”
Favors is still capable of defending the paint, which is partly why the Chicago Bulls signed him at the start of the season. The Bulls assigned him to their G-League team, as he's attempted to make a return to the NBA.
Favors isn't the same player as the prime version of himself, but he doesn't have to be for this Rockets team. As long as he can provide an interior presence around the rim, he'd be a viable option for Udoka and the Rockets.
