Granted, Thompson isn't the same Splash Brother that stuck a dagger in the hearts of Rockets fans every year not so long ago. He has regressed. With that said, he's still shooting 38.2% on 8.9 three-pointers per game in 2024-25.
Which is precisely why he'll likely be out of the Rockets' price range. It's remotely possible that Thompson would accept an affordable salary if it means securing a long-term deal. Still, it's more likely that the Rockets will have to look to more affordable options.
