1. Anthony Davis

This potential trade needs a giant disclaimer sign before it because it would only happen on the very off chance that LeBron James decides to retire. And even then, it would only happen if the Los Angeles Lakers decided to rebuild instead of trying to win with Anthony Davis.

That being said, if James does hang up his high tops and the Houston Rockets offer this package for Davis, the Lakers would be foolish not to at least pick up the phone.

Jalen Green, Alperen Sengun, and the fourth overall pick is a phenomenal place to start a rebuild, as all three assets have the potential to yield a star.

Davis is 30 years old, and the Lakers would probably try to win around him, but it would be easier to trade him for lots of value than to form an entirely new squad around him.

For the Rockets, pairing James Harden with Davis would be a dream come true. He may not be the most consistent offensive player, but he’s arguably the best defensive player in the NBA right now.

Having that sort of defensive presence alongside Harden would be elite, and the pick-and-roll between the two stars would be something special.

Again, this is a very unlikely trade as it would only even have a chance to occur under very specific circumstances. However, if those circumstances so come about, Los Angeles should definitely consider this route.

Potential starting lineups:

Rockets: James Harden, (signed SG), Jae’Sean Tate, Jabari Smith Jr., Anthony Davis

Lakers: Kevin Porter Jr., Jalen Green, #4 pick, Jarred Vanderbilt, (signed C)
