4. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is the quintessential 3-and-D player, which we know the Rockets covet. They've always coveted this archetype, as does every team around the league.
Think Shane Battier, Trevor Ariza, PJ Tucker, and Dillon Brooks more recently. The Rockets have a history with these types of players.
KCP has two titles under his belt, having won one with the Los Angeles Lakers and last season's championship as a starter on the Denver Nuggets. KCP is averaging 10.1 points in his 11th season, while shooting 39.6 percent from long-range (on 3.9 attempts).
The 31-year-old has been scorching from deep in recent years, as he made 42.3 percent from three last season, 39 percent from deep in 2021-22, and 41 percent in 2020-21. He's been the perfect role player for Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets and may not hit the market this summer, since the Nuggets need him so much (especially after losing Bruce Brown).
However, his $30 million extension expires at the end of the season. He's the epitome of an Ime Udoka type of player.
