Sure, this is a weak draft. That's a moot point. The third overall pick in any draft is a strong asset. We are certain that the Rockets are receiving calls about their upcoming selection.

How are they responding to those calls? That's the juicier question. As a win-now team with a high lottery pick, the Rockets are in a unique position. They seem more likely to move their pick than any of the other teams in the top-5.

At the same time, adding cost-controlled young talent is always beneficial. If the Rockets see star upside in anyone from this class when their name is called, they'll likely make the selection. Otherwise, they could be a strong candidate to do something rarely seen - trade out of the top-5.
