4. Rockets "monitoring" Donovan Mitchell

Spoiler: We're buying all the rumors. We may be rumor-mongers. We just can't seem to get enough of those sweet, sweet rumors.

Only this time, there's a caveat. Sure, the Rockets are likely "monitoring" Mitchell. That would come through the course of due diligence. Why wouldn't they monitor Mitchell?

Are they going to trade for him? That's a different question. Mitchell would cost a pretty penny. He'd leave the Rockets without assets moving forward. They'd be forcing themselves to feature a core of Mitchell, Alperen Sengun, and whichever young players are left over for the foreseeable future.

That feels like a foolhearty, impatient decision. It doesn't feel like something this front office is likely to do. The Rockets are likely monitoring Mitchell, but we'd be surprised if he donned (see what we did there?) a Rockets uniform next year.
