Every Houston Rockets player in history to wear #4
Paul McCracken
In 1973-74, McCracken played 4 games for the Houston Rockets.
This is starting to feel like an episode of the Twilight Zone.
That said, McCracken also played his 1972-73 rookie campaign in Houston. He played 12.7 minutes per game while scoring - believe it or not - 4.6 points per game for the team.
If the writer of this article has a nightmare where 4 number 4s are chasing him tonight, it won't be difficult to explain.
Rick Barry
Smith and McCracken were both role players. Not Barry. Now, we're talking about an NBA legend.
Still, Barry's glory days didn't come in Houston. He spent his last two seasons with the Rockets. His best year with the team came in 1978-79, when he averaged 13.5 points per game.
That was far from Barry's best season of professional basketball. In 1968-69, Barry averaged 34.0 points and 9.0 rebounds per game while shooting 51.1% from the field for the ABA's Oakland Oaks. He's a basketball legend, but by the time he was representing the Rockets, his best days were long behind him.
Conner Henry
Henry is another marginal player in Rockets history. He played one season with the team - and no, it had nothing to do with the number 4 outside of the number on his jersey.
In 1986-87, Henry scored 1.3 points per game for the Rockets in 5.1 minutes per game. It was his first and last season with the Rockets. Henry was in the NBA for two years, and he played for...
Dear God, no...
4 teams.
