Houston Rockets 2024 preseason schedule, tickets, radio
Houston Rockets fans won't have to wait much longer. Soon enough, the squad will be back in action. Their preseason schedule has officially been released.
This is a team that's hoping to climb the standings in 2024-25. In terms of roster additions, they'll hope that Reed Sheppard can contribute as a rookie, and Steven Adams looks strong after returning from an injury. Above all else, they'll be relying on internal development.
Luckily, this roster is young. Improvement is a reasonable expectation. After a .500 season, the Rockets will have their eyes firmly on the playoffs. Starting on October 7th, fans can get a look at what types of strides the Rockets' young players have made.
Houston Rockets full 2024 preseason schedule
Date | Opponent | Time (CT) |
---|---|---|
Monday, Oct. 7 | @ Utah Jazz | 8 p.m. |
Wednesday, Oct. 9 | @ Oklahoma City Thunder | 7 p.m. |
Tuesday, Oct. 15 | vs New Orleans Pelicans | 7 p.m. |
Thursday, Oct. 17 | vs San Antonio Spurs | 7 p.m. |
This is an interesting slate of games. The Rockets start their season against a Jazz team that seems to be between rebuilding and competing. We'll see if Lauri Markkanen is still on the roster on opening night.
The Thunder have made impressive roster moves this summer. Will they try to find some chemistry between Alex Caruso, Isaiah Hartenstein, and the rest of their roster during the preseason? Or, will they take an opportunity to rest their veterans?
Similar questions can be asked about the Pelicans. They added Dejounte Murray this summer. Will they avail of this game to get him some reps with their core?
Mostly, fans will have an eye on that October 17th date. Has Victor Wembanyama solved Alperen Sengun, or will the Rockets' young star still have the prodigy's number?
