Veteran FA targets for Houston Rockets: Montrezl Harrell

If the Houston Rockets were looking for a younger veteran option in the frontcourt, Montrezl Harrell could be in play for the team this offseason. He's another former Rocket and is coming off a season in Philadelphia playing alongside James Harden. Harrell struggled this past season with the Sixers to carve out meaningful minutes but has been a consistently productive player through the eight seasons of his career.

He's one season removed from averaging 13 points and six rebounds on 65 percent shooting from the field with Washington and Charlotte during the 2021-22 NBA season. He could be a veteran spark plug for the Rockets off the bench next season, and his familiarity with the organization could be a welcomed sight for the team as well.

At 29 years old, there's an argument to be made that Harrell still has a good amount of juice left in the tank. Even more so considering he's trying to jump-start a second wave of his career in the NBA. Harrell is the type of small addition during the offseason that could end up paying big dividends late in the season.
