Houston Rockets guard Jalen Green has perfect playoff take
By Rob Leeds
Jalen Green might be every Houston Rockets fan during the playoffs. It might be fun to watching stretches, but it isn't the same when your team isn't in it.
Being a Rockets fan and having to watch the NBA Playoffs is little more than a tease.
The team was just starting to hit its stride and make the games more fun to watch when the season ended. Jalen Green was looking good, KPJ was looking like one of the better 3-point shooters in the league, and it was nice getting to see Alperen Sengun playing more minutes.
Moments like that will always be teases. Seeing the young guys lead the roster while the old guys get shut down has this way of making the future seem all the more exciting, and Rockets fans and players are just thinking about the future that contains playoff basketball.
Jalen Green put it as well as he could when asked about his interaction with the playoffs in the following quote Tweeted out by Adam Spolane.
Jalen Green is clearly all of us (just much better at playing basketball).
Not that it's a new feeling during a rebuild that still has a few years to go, but it does still feel weird watching the playoffs without your team in the game, especially after the success that Houston experienced for so long.
The other way of looking at this is that it shows the exact right mentality about growing his game that a player like Green should be showing. His rookie season was good, but Jalen Green isn't satisfied.
Green wants to be playing playoff basketball. Assuming the team can keep this development up, he should get a shot sooner rather than later, but it seems like we all might have to put up with feeling "annoyed" about the playoffs for a little bit longer before a change actually comes.
We're annoyed at not getting to watch Jalen Green in the playoffs. That'll change soon.
