1. Donovan Mitchell

Cost: Victor Oladipo, Jock Landale, Jalen Green, 2024 First-Round Pick

Donovan Mitchell is another example of what the Rockets claim to be after, as he's easily a top-20 player in the league and was an All-NBA performer last season.

The four-time All-Star is having his best all-around season, as he's averaging 27.7 points (second-best in his career), 6.3 assists (career-high), 5.5 rebounds (career-high), 46.1 percent from the field, 34.4 percent from deep, 85.7 percent from the charity stripe, and 58.4 percent true shooting (second-best in his career).

The Rockets have lacked a consistent closer and Mitchell fills that void. He's instant offense.

Hell, he just scored 45 points on Wednesday night. And he scored 71 points just last year.

He's instant offense. And he's evolved as a passer, due to the gravity that he creates.

And he's still only 27-years-old.

Granted, he would be a huge risk contractually, as he's only under contract through 2024-25 and may not want to extend in Houston.

But the Rockets' best chance of acquiring a star at the deadline comes by way of gambling on a player with one year left on their deal, like Spida.
