Contender #4 that could make a move for Eric Gordon: Phoenix Suns

The Phoenix Suns’ championship window is right now, and this season may be their best chance to bring a championship to the valley. Chris Paul isn’t getting any younger, Deandre Ayton will be a free agent, and Devin Booker, while excellent, isn’t yet in the tier of player that can lead a team all on his own to a title.

Eric Gordon could be the piece that finally pushes the franchise over the top. He would give their second unit a boost and provide the Suns with another lethal shooter. He also has plenty of playoff experience, which matters for a team with their eyes set on a deep playoff run.

Cameron Payne has had a down season as the Suns' sixth man, and an upgrade at the spot could make one of the best teams in the league even better.

The Suns owe one first-round pick to the Oklahoma City Thunder, but outside of that, they own all of their firsts and all of the second-round picks. They also have Dario Saric’s $9 million contract, Jalen Smith’s $4.45 million deal, and Payne's $6.5 million salary to match Gordon’s deal. There is an avenue for the Suns to keep all of their core contributors and add Gordon. For a championship-caliber team, those are the moves that need to be made.
