The 2023-24 NBA season is around the corner, as the preseason will be starting rather quickly. The Houston Rockets have already started training camp in Lake Charles, Louisiana and we've seen footage of the newly-concocted roster.

Media Day is in the books and I previously covered my initial thoughts of the media sessions of three of the Rockets' key members. Here are the remainder of my takeaways from three other key players on the roster.

1. Tari Eason- Hunger to improve What did you work on to be able to take the next step?

Offensively, ball handling, watching film, shooting, being able to knock down catch-and-shoot threes, expanding the game more, scoring on three levels, adding midrange. Defensively, having a different intensity."

How does this team get better and how do you get to where you want to be as a team?

Attention to detail. With vets' emphasis on attention to detail and defense, locking into those should make us better. With Fred, Jeff, and Dillon bringing a vet presence.

Rockets second-year forward Tari Eason mentioned his desire to get better and to grow as a player on both the offensive and defensive end. It appears the players are tired of losing and being complacent.

2. Jock Landale - Doing the Little Things
What can you bring to this team? What can you bring at that position? A level of toughness, playing hard every possession, no lack of effort. Get guys open, apply pressure, shoot good shots, play winning ball.

What kind of role do you envision offensively? Do you see yourself as a rim runner? Would you like to expand your game past that? Do you get the sense the coaching staff wants that?

I'm happy to slot in wherever. Shot creation off rebounds, rim-running, I am content with that.

Newly-added Rockets center Jock Landale mentioned his desire to do the little things and play within his role. It's always beneficial to have a guy willing to do the little things. Also, it's great to have a player that knows and respects his role.

3. Alpren Sengun - Defensive Improvement
What do you think you can bring in your third season that we may not have seen?

Help my team more defensively and give all my energy to defense.

Last season you wanted to make a concerted effort to be more focused on playing defense. What did you do this offseason to get better at that?
I strengthened my legs for added quickness and strength

Rockets center Alpren Sengun is entering a pivotal year three. This season it seems he is ready to take the defensive leap fans have been waiting for.
