Most elaborate Tari Eason injury update yet comes from unlikely source
After having an impactful rookie season, Houston Rockets forward Tari Eason enters the 2023-24 season with high expectations. At least from basketball observers and analysts.
Eason showed out in the Summer League, to the tune of 23 points, 9.5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 blocks and was deemed to essentially be too good to continue playing in the summer showcase. Eason is expected to have a big role under Rockets coach Ime Udoka, who is a guru on the defensive end of the floor, which is where Eason wreaks havoc.
The second-year forward has displayed that during the preseason also, particularly against the New Orleans Pelicans, as he had three steals in a two-minute window in the second quarter. Eason's all-around play in the preseason has been encouraging, as he averaged 9.5 points, 6 rebounds, 2.5 steals, 1.5 assists, 72.7 percent from field, and 50 percent from three-in the Rockets' opening two preseason games.
Houston Rockets injury news comes from unlikely source
However, Eason has been hampered by an injury of late, which has caused him to miss the Rockets' final three preseason games. Furthermore, Eason could miss the Rockets' opener next Wednesday against the Orlando Magic, at least according to his mom, who would seem to be a reliable source.
As for the specifics of the injury, Mama Eason has you covered there also. (Again, she would seem to know these things).
And what about how the injury intensified in the days after the initial injury? Ms. Eason has you covered there also.
As a side note, if you're on Twitter (or X, or whatever floats your boat) and you aren't following Eason's mom, you should change that. In fact, I'll make it easy for you and give you her Twitter handle- @teroyaeason.
Not only is she going to have any injury-related news regarding her son, she's also a very knowledgeable basketball fan. And she holds her son to the highest level of accountability.
In other words, she's a great one to have in the Rockets' fanbase.
