Clingan has been linked to the Rockets often. We even touched on him before. At this point, it feels likely that he won't be on the board when the Rockets are selecting.

Recently, it's been reported that Clingan is shooting up draft boards. That makes sense. In what's seen as a weak draft, Clingan has a bankable, potentially elite skill in his rim protection.

On the other hand, defensive bigs don't typically make for lottery picks. Moreover, a draft like this one is unpredictable by nature. It's possible that Clingan will slip to the Rockets as teams scoop up prospects they see as having higher ceilings.

That would leave the Rockets with an interesting decision to make. Clingan looks like a potentially starting caliber big. The Rockets already have Alperen Sengun.
