The early returns of the 2023-24 NBA season indicate that the Houston Rockets were serious about turning around their dismal play of yesteryear and ending their rebuild. Gone are the days of being down 20 points at halftime.

As a matter of fact, the Rockets have largely been competitive in all of their games (aside from the opener) despite playing a tough early schedule. The Rockets have been drastically different defensively, as we've seen Alperen Sengun and even Jalen Green putting forth significant effort on that end of the floor.

One trade the Houston Rockets must resist.

Rockets coach Ime Udoka has done a bang-up job overnight, which has drawn notice of the national media.

Exhibit A, ESPN's Stephen A. Smith.

"Ime Udoka coached one year in the NBA, and in one year did what Brad Stevens couldn't do in seven. This man knows the game and can coach his a- off. By the way, the Rockets look pretty damn good with him. They're on the come up. So let's give love where it's due."

The Rockets have some weaknesses on the roster (lack of a defensive big, lack of shooting, lack of scoring on the bench) and will be looking to bolster the group. However, there's one trade that must be avoided at all costs.
