What a time to be alive.

Last summer, that is. If you're a Houston Rockets fan, the offseason heading into 2023-24 was a whirlwind. The Rockets had money to blow - and they blew it. No team spent more in free agency.

This summer is a different story. The Rockets weren't working with much cap space. The money was already spent. So, the Rockets have been making more modest acquisitions.

That doesn't mean they haven't done anything. The Rockets have spent the summer injecting their roster with more young talent. Here, we're looking at their top acquisitions.

This is our ranking of the three new players the Rockets added to their roster this summer.

3. N'Faly Dante

Any claim that a player could have been selected higher in the draft feels specious. OK...so why didn't they?

In the case of Dante, injuries could be to blame. In 2020, Dante tore his ACL. He's had durability issues ever since. The Rockets should be paying mind to those issues.

On the other hand, Dante averaged 17.0 points, 9.2 rebounds, 1.9 blocks, and 1.7 steals per game for the Oregon Ducks in 2023-24. At the NBA level, he has the potential to be a strong rim protector who can finish pick-and-rolls with ease on the offensive end.

Dare we say it? If not for those injury concerns, Dante could have been a first-round talent in the 2024 draft. The Rockets did well to snatch him up on a two-way contract:

Even if he's our last-ranked acquisition of the summer.
