Was there any doubt?
Defenses treated Sheppard like a superstar throughout Summer League. He was the focal point of the Rockets' offense, and he responded well. Sheppard finished with 20.0 points per game while shooting 50.0% from the field in four games.
Sure, we wish he'd shot better than 27.8% from distance. Still, it's encouraging that Sheppard showed an ability to impact winning even when his shot wasn't falling. Sheppard's 5.3 assists per game reflect a player who's as comfortable running a pick-and-roll as any Rockets rookie from recent years.
What else can we say? Sheppard looked like a future star. He impressed everyone. He was the Rockets' best player during Summer League by a considerable margin.
Now, we can only wait to see how he performs with the main roster.
