1. 2023 first-round pick

The Rockets and Spurs both finished 22-60 and tied for the second-worst record in the league. Both will join the Pistons with a 14 percent chance of having the number one pick and the right to select Victor Wembanyama.

The French big man is the most hyped prospect since LeBron James, and teams will be urgently calling if Houston gets the top selection on May 16.

At worst, the Rockets fall to seventh in the lottery, but there is just a seven percent chance of that happening. Houston has a 52.1 percent chance of selecting in the top four. This draft is loaded with talent, and each of the top four players would be the number-one pick in other years.

Winning the draft lottery would make this pick even more valuable. If Houston lands after the top three, Jalen Green likely becomes the team’s most valuable trade asset, which makes May 16th a massive night for the franchise.
