Your Houston Rockets, ladies and gentlemen, have changed. They are no longer slumming it out with the other bottom-feed lottery watchers in the doldrums of NBA discourse. They are in the midst of one of the most exciting win streaks we have seen from this squad over the past three years and are sitting near the top of the Western Conference with the likes of the reigning champion Nuggets and the red-hot T-Wolves. 

Some around the league are taking notice while others are casting doubt on the validity of the Rockets’ streak. There are a few reasons why.

They started the season in one of the most embarrassing ways possible and then fumbled to potential wins to the Spurs and Warriors. The wins have come against some teams dealing with key injuries, such as the Kings, Lakers, Pelicans, and Nuggets who all played without one of their key players. 

However, there are a few reasons why fans can be confident that, even though the losses will come eventually, this is not fool’s gold.
