Rockets fans roast Spurs after Sengun torches 'too small' Wembanyama

Victor Wembanyama has received an inordinate amount of praise this season. Many have him penciled in as the Defensive Player of the Year, despite being on an absolute laughing stock of the league in 2023-24.

Others have him listed as one of the top 20 players in the league. On Tuesday night, the supposed future of the league was neither.

In fact, he wasn't even the best international player on the floor, as Houston Rockets Turkish center Alperen Sengun absolutely baptized him, to the tune of 45 points, 16 rebounds, five assists, five steals, and 59.3 percent from the field (19-of-32).

On....a generational defensive talent?

Wemby was so upset that he stormed off the court after the game. Which he should be after a measly 10 points (4-of-10) and six turnovers.

Which is amusing because this is the same team he dubbed to not be good enough to land him.

Remember?

When he pumped his fists at the draft lottery when he saw the Rockets land the fourth overall pick? I remember.

It ain't so fun when the rabbit has the gun, now is it, Mr. Wembanyama?

The Rockets weren't afraid to drive to the basket and were attacking the French "sensation" all night.

Literally.

And it's not like this is some one game fluke either. Remember the first time the two teams faced off?

Sengun had 25 points, 14 rebounds, seven assists, and 61.1 percent from the field (on 11-of-18 shooting), while Wembanyama went 7-of-19, en route to 21 points, although he needed overtime. And 19 shots.

After the game, Wembanyama got smoked even worse on Twitter, as Rockets fans let loose.

Amen Thompson even got in on the fun.

Don't worry, Spurs fans. There was enough slander for the Spurs team as a whole.

Let this be a cautionary tale of why you shouldn't throw shade and bump your gums in the offseason, Mr. Wembanyama.

You'll get your chain snatched. Welcome to the big leagues.
