The Houston Rockets have finalized their roster for the 2022 NBA Summer League set to begin Thursday in Las Vegas.

Houston Chronicle beat writer Jonathan Feigen went in-depth about each player joining the Rockets during the Summer League and even disclosed who will coach the team. Newly drafted Jabari Smith, Jr (3rd Pick), Tari Eason (17th Pick), and TyTy Washington (29th Pick) will be among the players on the team, and assistant coach Rick Higgins will coach the squad.

It's not just the rookies who will fill up the summer squad's roster. One name that Rockets fans will recognize immediately is Gordon, as in Eron Gordon, the younger brother of Eric Gordon. Multiple players from the Rockets' G-League affiliate, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, will be on the team, including Anthony Lamb.

One player I'm interested in seeing play is former Rice Owl Carl Pierre, who stared at Rice as a graduate student after transferring from UMass. He was Third Team All-Conference USA, NABC Second Team All-District Team, and Conference USA Player of The Week in January of this year. As a Rice fan, I think it would be pretty cool to see a former Owl make the squad and show out.

The Summer League may be boring to some, but when you are rebuilding a franchise from the ground up, as the Rockets are, it's an important step to see where each player is at skill wise and whether they can handle the NBA day in and day out.
