Last time out, the Rockets secured a win agaisnt hte New York Knicks in chaotic fashion, leading to the Knicks to protest the final outcome of the game.

While the Rockets wait for the verdict from the league office, the team heads to Memphis for its final game before the All-Star break. The banged up Grizzlies have struggled all season, but is there a way to bet on this game with the Rockets having noted road strugles?

Rockets vs. Grizzlies Key Players to Watch

Rockets

Alperen Sengun: Sengun has taken a leap this season, averaging north of 21 points per game while grabbing more than nine rebounds and dishing out five assists. He'll navigate a Grizzlies team that has been crippled by injuries this season in hopes to finishing the unofficial first half of the season on a high note.

Grizzlies

Jaren Jackson Jr.: The Grizzlies look a lot different than last years No. 2 seed in the Western Conference with injuries all over, but JJJ has maintained a high level of play. He is averaging 22 points per game with five rebounds as he tries to drag the Grizzlies through the remainder of a lost season.

Rockets vs. Grizzlies Prediction and Pick

While the Grizzlies are down a handful of talented rotation players, the team has still put together a top 10 defense this season. With JJJ in the middle, this Memphis team still prides itself on the defensive side of the floor. However, the offense has fallen to dead last in terms of points per 100 possessions, per NBA.com.

I expect the Grizz to continue to struggle on defense on Wednesday against the Rockets, who are sixth in points allowed per 100 possessions and have been able to suffocate teams with a stout perimeter defense. Memphis is devoid of talent to take advantage of what has become one of the elite defenses in the NBA.

While Houston's defense is elite, the offense isn't the same, 23rd in points per 100 possessions and scoring three points fewer per 100 on the road.

The Grizzlies and Rockets are each going to lean on its defense and for that, I'll take the under.
