As the Houston Rockets have tried out various rotation combinations this offseason, one thing has been glaringly missing: the infamous double-big lineup.

Although Sengun has gotten some time on the court with both Steven Adams and Clint Capela this preseason, Adams's return from his rest in the Rockets' matchup on Tuesday against the New Orleans Pelicans could give head coach Ime Udoka the opportunity to truly experiment with what could be the team's most dangerous weapon this season.

While the backcourt still needs to sort itself out, the way in which Houston will deploy its centers this season remains somewhat of a mystery, and this could be the perfect opportunity for fans to get a glimpse at the team's approach to playing with size.

The double-big lineup could return in full force on Wednesday against the Pelicans

In signing Capela this offseason to a multi-year contract, the Rockets' plans became crystal clear: to give themselves enough versatility to play with size whenever they wanted to.

Last season, through the final portions of the regular season and into the playoffs, Houston leaned more and more on their approach of having Sengun and Adams on the court at the same time, and the duo gave the team an absurd 32.7 point boost in their net rating when that combination was deployed.

However, Adams, who is entering the latter portions of his career and has been relatively limited health-wise over the past few seasons, cannot be fully trusted to take on the breadth of minutes this would require, and, thus, the Capela signing provides the depth necessary to do so.

Although Adams played 16 minutes in the team's first preseason game, he garnered a DNP in their second. Capela, meanwhile, has looked excellent so far, taking on almost 35 minutes through the team's first two games and looking dynamic on both ends of the floor.

However, in order for Udoka to deploy his bigs with the versatility he longs for, the Rockets need both centers to be available, and Adams should be returning for a full load of minutes in the team's next game.

Therefore, as Houston continues to sort out its personnel combinations heading into the season, look for them to really experiment with their bigs through their last two preseason games, giving Sengun significant run with both Adams and Capela in order to further feel out where their advantages might lie.
