Continuing SCS series of all 82 games from last season next up is the Houston Rockets Game 32 of 2015-16 versus the New Orleans Pelicans.

The Houston Rockets added draft picks and signed free agents to improve upon an especially mediocre 41-41 campaign. Big man Dwight Howard left for Atlanta while free agents Ryan Anderson, Eric Gordon, Nene Hilario and Pablo Prigioni joined Houston in free agency.

Hopes are these additions and the growth of existing assets will translate into a season similar to 2014-15. While fans wait for opening night on October 26th versus the Lakers hopefully this series will appease your cravings.

Game 32 – New Orleans Pelicans

Houston Rockets Game 32 saw the Pelicans win a squeaker to tie the season series.

Pregame Analysis:

Both teams played on Christmas Day however the Rockets played much later in the day. Despite that fact Houston arrived with more bounce in their step having doled out a loss (just the sixth to San Antonio) to the Spurs and overall playing a solid defensive game. Conversely the Pelicans had a chance to win their game in Miami throughout the match, but their inability to defend cost them in the end.

Post Game Analysis:

Coty Davis provided player grades and post game review noting how succinctly the Pelicans dispensed of the Rockets stealing any shine remaining after Houston’s Spurs victory.

The Houston Rockets headed down I-10 East for a one game road trip Saturday, as they took on Anthony Davis and the New Orleans Pelicans, at the Smoothie King Center. Heading into this game, the Rockets were riding high after their Christmas day victory against the San Antonio Spurs.

For the Rockets, what looked like a blowout win in the making, quickly turned into a voodoo nightmare. The Rockets blew an 11 point lead as they headed into the half. It was everything but easy for Houston.

Stat Leaders:

Ironically a player who now will suit up for the Rockets was the man who posted the best game for New Orleans on this day. The effort by the Rockets saw several mediocre performances with Terrence Jones delivering the best of the worst.

PF. Houston Rockets. TERRENCE JONES. B+. Terence Jones reminded fans that their was another great player drafted from Kentucky in 2012. Going up against his college teammate Anthony Davis, T-Jones has a good night. Perhaps trying to earn a second life in Houston. The more Jones continues to improve his game, the better the Rockets play will become as they approach the new year. 13 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals.<span style=

Best Opponent:

G. New Orleans. ERIC GORDON. A+.  While most Rockets fans thought Davis would be the Rockets’ kryptonite, it shouldn’t be a surprise Eric Gordon gave them the most problems. Since entering the league in 2009, Gordon has always played his best basketball against the Rockets. If it wasn’t for a few devastating knee injuries, Gordon would have been one of the top All-Star players in the league. During the first half he scored 19 points in 18 minutes, while shooting a perfect 100 percent from the field. With a season high of six three-point shots, Gordon had an awesome night reminding fans of what could have been. 26 points, 5 assists, 83 percent from the field.
