Houston Rockets Three Game Win Streak Ends in Brooklyn

Entering the game with a three-game winning streak, it looked like the Houston Rockets had their mojo back as they prepared for an early season rematch against the Brooklyn Nets, Tuesday night. However, after coughing up the ball 12 times, and allowing 32 points in the paint during the first half, it was clear that the Rockets still have a long way to go before they can reclaim their respect as championship contenders.

Although they played sluggish throughout the game, I do not blame their lack of efficiency on one of the Rockets. Due to Dwight Howard‘s birthday bash Sunday night, in the words of R&B singer Jame Foxx, I blame this game on the a-a-alcohol!

Rockets Player Grades

C-. 10 points, 9 rebounds, 2 blocks <span style=. C. Houston Rockets. DWIGHT HOWARD

6 points, 9 rebounds- Since he spent most of last season in the D-League, Capela has played like a player who has hit the rookie wall. In the last few games, Capela has not played with the same intensity he started the season with. Although he did a solid job cleaning the glass, he did not have much of an impact on the game.. C. Houston Rockets. CLINT CAPELA. D

C. 2 points, 1-3 FG-<span style=. SF. Houston Rockets. TREVOR ARIZA

F. 10 points, 7 turnovers, 9 assists- The Nets did a great job defensive slowing Harden down. It seemed like every time the ball was in Harden’s possession, the Nets sent three players his way. In the first half the Nets held Harden’s shooting to 20 percent. They did such a great job defending Harden, it was impossible for him to score from the free-throw line. Coming into the game, Harden averaged 10 free throws per game. This game he only attempted six. By far one of his worst performances of the season!. SG. Houston Rockets. JAMES HARDEN

B. 10 points, 5 steals- After a slow start to the season, Beverley is starting to get his aggressiveness back. During the first-quarter, Beverley looked like the only Rocket who came to Brooklyn ready to play. Not so much offensively, but on the defensive end. By halftime, Beverley already had a season high 4 steals to his stats line.. PG. Houston Rockets. PATRICK BEVERLEY

Best Reserves

A. 22 points, 3 steals, 2 assists-FINALLY! This is the Corey Brewer fans fell in love with! Brewer did a great job picking up the slack after Ariza went down with a back injury. In the first half Brewer already had his second highest scoring game of the season with 13 points in 17 minutes. With a season high of 22 points, this was by far his best individual game of the season. Hopefully this game will give Brewer some confidence that will carry out throughout the season.. SG. Houston Rockets. COREY BREWER

F. Houston Rockets. MARCUS THORNTON. A+. 32 points, 6 rebounds, 6 steals- <span style=

Best Opponent:

A+. 20 points, 5 rebounds, 5 blocks- Of course this is not a surprise. When healthy, Lopez is one of the best big men in the league, and tonight he showed it. Although, he has had problems against Howard in his career, this is only the fourth victory for Lopez when facing Dwight.. C. Brooklyn Nets. BROOK LOPEZ
