Houston Rockets Erase 20 Point Deficit to Beat Cavs

After battling the Indiana Pacers on Easter Sunday, the Houston Rockets continued their Eastern Conference road trip. Facing an even sterner test in the Cleveland Cavaliers the Rockets came back from a 20 point deficit to notch the victory.

Tough week for the Rockets. Even if the Cleveland Cavaliers decided to rest King LeBron James, playing against the top seeded team on the East, away from home and on a roadtrip is never an easy task.

A couple Rockets starters suffered with foul trouble early which ended up leaving the team to rely mostly on Bickerstaff’s thin rotation. Rockets interim head coach tried a couple of new things tonight, McDaniels saw some playing time, Harden spent some minutes as the team’s only (point) guard, etc..

Despite J.B.’s attempts his team just couldn’t cope with the Cavs offensive strength. Lead by Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love the Cavs led the score by 19 at halftime.

Then as the Rockets fans are probably getting used to, the team came back late in the second half but this time were able to finish off their opponents with great defense in the final minutes of the fourth.

This writer simply cannot figure out this team.

I do believe the Houston Rockets are already preparing for life without Dwight Howard – and rightfully so. I won’t go as far as to say Dwight is not giving his best, but his minutes as well as his usage are rapidly decreasing. Plus Capela looks to have already taken his place as the rightful owner of Rockets center spot. Howard started well tonight scoring in the post, but the team simply don’t like using him offensively and when they actually do Howard doesn’t finish plays fast enough and/or is hacked below the rim. And, then on the free-throw line he is the disaster we’re all familiar with. 11 points, 11 rebounds but <strong>7-for-22</strong> from the FT line.. C. Houston Rockets. DWIGHT HOWARD. C+
