Houston Rockets Trail Series 3-1 After 3rd Quarter Collapse – Team Grades
By Andre Cantalogo
In the wake of a great win in Game 3 the Houston Rockets geared up for an even more daunting task: tying the series with the Warriors. And even though the Rockets were playing at Toyota Center the dubs had Stephen Curry back…
Unlike any of the previous games in the series, Game 4 started much more back and forth with Clutch City and the dubs exchanging leads and making runs with no team really surging ahead.
And with the reigning MVP struggling – perhaps with his ankle still hurt or simply feeling the rhythm of the game – and later exiting the game for good, the Houston Rockets felt this match was up for grabs.
However the Rockets weren’t able to knock down their three-point shots whereas the dubs averaged over 50% on theirs which resulted in things getting ugly for the Texan team.
Specifically in the second half as Klay Thompson and Draymond Green (which the league simply refuses to hold accountable for his taunting, yells and overall hockey thug persona) started heating up from beyond the arc and for some reason Houston Rockets’ worst nightmare Shaun Livingston started doing his damage.
Then the turnovers started piling up and quick as a lightning the Warriors mounted a nice 10 plus points advantage.
Rockets third quarter was a joke and they should be asshamed for this franchise as it was probably the worst 12 minutes this team had all season. Bickerstaff might as well had pulled the plug right then and there. The Warriors took the Rockets soul and the fourth quarter was nothing but melancholic.
