Jersey sales rankings for the Houston Rockets this season
By Michael Knight
While the Rockets are engaged in a battle with the Timberwolves in the playoffs, the jersey sales numbers were released by the NBA.
The Houston Rockets finished with the best record in the NBA this season at 65-17. They added superstar Chris Paul to the mix before the season, making the team more marketable to fans than ever. This was also the first year that Nike debuted their new jerseys to the NBA.
As a result, the Rockets finished with the tenth-highest amount of jersey sales this season. Most likely, this is a carryover effect from the overachieving season last year.
While tenth may seem a little low for how good the Rockets are, they are still improving on that front. After the great season this year, look for that number to be even higher next season when some bandwagon fans join the cause.
The numbers were still up from last season when the Rockets didn’t even crack the top-10 in jersey sales.
James Harden
As far as individual sales, James Harden had the ninth-best-selling jersey. The top 3, Stephen Curry, LeBron James & Kevin Durant, remained the same as last year, but Harden did manage to move up one spot.
Like how the Rockets will likely be a top-5 jersey selling team next year, the same could be said for Harden. After he (hopefully) wins MVP, his jersey should be bought much more frequently.
The rest of the league
Wondering how the rest of the league looked for jersey sales? Here’s the list of teams and individuals:

Of course, the ever-popular Warriors have leaders in both categories. Seeing Philadelphia at No. 3 is also interesting, people are really trusting the process this year. The jersey sales don’t always show until the next season, but that is not the case with Philly.
