With this NBA season practically over, the Vegas odds for the 2018-19 NBA championship are out.
The season for the Houston Rockets ended earlier this week with a heartbreaking loss in the Conference Finals to the Golden State Warriors in 7 games. While the NBA Finals are still going on, the oddsmakers at Vegas are already speculating about next season.
The Rockets check in tied for second with the Philadelphia 76ers in odds to win the NBA Finals in 2019. The official odds are 7/2 behind, you guessed it, the Warriors yet again.
One interesting odds is the one for the Cavaliers. They currently are at 300/1, 8th in the league. The rest of the East is projected to improve.
Here are the rest of the odds via the Sixers’ Jon Johnson and the Los Vegas SuperBook.

Still behind the Warriors
As the Rockets just lost to the team that is likely to win the Finals, Houston is still behind Golden State in odds. They clock in with outstanding 5/4 odds. The dominance of the Warriors is not going anywhere anytime soon, the Rockets just have to find a way to beat them.
Signing another star player would increase the odds for Houston for sure. LeBron James and Paul George have been two rumored players that the organization is interested in. Daryl Morey and the rest of the front office will have to do some serious cap space manipulation to get it done, but I believe in them fully to put out the best team possible next season.
Having the second-best odds is a fair assessment of Houston. If you are the betting type, don’t be afraid to put your money on the Rockets next year as they attempt to take down the beast that is the Warriors.
Next: Morey wants the Rockets' core intact
I believe in the Rockets! Let’s win the 2019 NBA Championship!
