The Houston Rockets had an organizational transformation this offseason, starting with the head of the snake- the head coach. The Rockets replaced Stephen Silas with Ime Udoka, who has an NBA championship on his resume as an assistant under legendary San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich.
Udoka brings a swagger and level of confidence, which was on display in his introductory press conference, as he stated that he's never missed the playoffs and doesn't intend to start now.
Udoka’s emphasis on defense prompted the Rockets to add Dillon Brooks, who is easily one of the best defenders in the league. In addition, Udoka was the driving force behind the addition of Fred VanVleet, who is a championship floor general.
