The Memphis Grizzlies were dealt an unfortunate blow on Monday night regarding All-NBA guard Ja Morant, who will miss the remainder of the season with a labral tear in his shoulder. The Grizzlies had already started the 2023-24 season behind the 8-ball, in large part because of Morant's 25-game suspension.

Morant joins a list of Grizzlies that will miss extensive time due to injury, as Brandon Clarke and Steven Adams were already ruled out prior to the Grizzlies' first game. This injury, however, is the nail in the coffin and will probably cause Memphis to tank the rest of the season, as they essentially don't have anything to play for.

In this regard, it wouldn't be a surprise if the Grizzlies had a fire sale, and if they do, the Houston Rockets would be wise to target three players (assuming Desmond Bane and Jaren Jackson Jr. are unavailable).

3. Bismack Biyombo

I've discussed the possibility of the Rockets nabbing Bismack Biyombo quite extensively and the reason is simple: he presents a skillset that's missing on the Rockets' roster. He's a defensive minded big man who can provide formidable defense in the post.

Sure, Alperen Sengun has drastically improved in this area, but he's not a better defender than Biyombo, even the 31-year-old version of the Grizzlies center. Rockets coach Ime Udoka has emphasized defense to everyone on the roster and he'd certainly welcome Biyombo, who can also still rebound at a high level.
