2. Kenny Smith – Houston Rockets Assistant/Shooting Coach

It would probably be next to impossible to pry Kenny Smith away from his TNT gig, but the fact still remains he would make an excellent shooting coach. The Jet finished his career eighth all-time in threes made in franchise history and is currently tied for fourth in outside shooting percentage.

Smith also recently started Jet Academy, a virtual basketball camp meant to help participants develop their game with the help of himself and other professional basketball players. Kenny definitely has knowledge of the game to share and wants to do just that, so why not use that to help the shooting of the team that gave him the most success as a player?

Despite leading the league by far in 3-point attempts, the Houston Rockets were 24th in percentage from deep this season. That is nowhere near good enough for a team that shoots as many threes as they do, especially considering the rebounding disadvantage they’re at almost nightly.

Smith knows how to stroke the ball from the outside, and the Rockets could use some tips on that front.
